A FAIR FARE!

Here's a rant whose time has come:
Am I the only one who thinks that the NYC MTA needs to establish an "Off Peak" time and fare reduction?  Why should I have to pay the same price riding between the hours of 12 midnight and 5 am on the subway as someone who works a 9 to 5 gig and travels in between 5 & 9 am? Traveling between the hours of 12 midnight and 5 am on weekdays you receive a lower quality of service which includes less trains available which means you must leave earlier equating to less sleep, there are with regularity, cancellations of service that require you to take shuttle buses or other lines which all equate to longer travel time & inconvenience; again less sleep.  This is all because the MTA uses these hours for the larger portion of any of their maintenance & repair work.  The point I'm making is not to have the MTA do their maintenance work during rush hour but that those who bear the brunt of the inconvenience be compensated for their misery.  I think that $1.00 off the fare is fair.  Hey there's a slogan FAIR FARE!  A tee shirt is born! Who's with me??
well here's what's latest on my wishlist. the Victory Hardball has replaced the Harley Fatbob in my heart. The road is calling again, can't keep'er on hold forever.
